Back to School
This is an opportunity for parents to visit in their child's classroom, to speak with their child's teachers, to discuss the daily routine and curriculum, and to hear about plans for the school year.
Each October the staff create a small pumpkin patch on our property with the help of parent volunteers. The children spend a morning enjoying hay rides, face painting, making butter (and eating it on crackers!), playing dress-up and listening to stories.
To celebrate the sharing of our blessings with each other, the classrooms (teachers, children and parents) combine to create a feast of thanksgiving.
Our annual Christmas Program is held in early December. This program is presented in the sanctuary and family and friends are invited to attend. The program is followed by punch and cookies in each of the classrooms. This is always a heart-warming event!
Kindergarten Readiness Workshop
Each year our staff presents a workshop for our parents which provides information on how to determine if their child is ready for Kindergarten.
Spring Open House
Each Spring our school schedules an Open House to showcase the work the children have accomplished during the school year. A visit to all of the classrooms is an excellent opportunity to view the HighScope curriculum in action!
Week of the Young Child
This is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for the purpose of focusing attention on the needs of young children and their families.
